St. Vincent DePaul Society

The St. Vincent dePaul Society is an international Catholic organization committed to helping those in need. Our Glynn County Conference manages outreach efforts from our thrift store at 1217 Newcastle Street in Brunswick, Georgia.  The conference is composed of volunteers from St. Francis Xavier Church in Brunswick and Jekyll Island, St. William Church on St Simons Island, and associates from the local community.

In addition to operating a thrift store, the society maintains a food pantry and a financial assistance office where we meet directly with clients to assess their food and clothing needs and provide funds, when available, for other necessities such as utilities, prescription medicines and gasoline. Funds for our assistance effort are obtained from monthly church collections and individual donations. Our thrift store accepts donations of clothing, housewares, books, furniture and more. We do not accept toys due to regulations concerning lead paint.

A detailed energy audit of our building was conducted in early 2011. We are now prioritizing work projects to keep our utility costs as low as possible considering the age and design of our store.

Our thrift store (912-262-6027) is open weekdays from 10am - 4pm and Saturdays from 10am – 2pm.

Our financial assistance office (912-262-6244) is open on Mondays and Thursdays.

Our food pantry is open Mondays and Thursdays.
