In the fall of 2009, St. William joined the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas in an effort to support the spiritual, financial and quality of life issues of a Haitian parish.
Since that time a team of parishioners has gone to Haiti to meet the Pastor and his parishioners to assess the assistance our parish can provide.
Due to the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti, St. Joseph's Parish's rectory and church were destroyed, in addition to the loss of life and property of its parishioners.
Following the earthquate a second team of two of our parishoners, Diane Smith & Carol Roberts, who are nurses traveled to Haiti for a month to help with the wounded. (See, nurses Diane and Carol talking with Msgr. Kenneally in photo above.)
On Sunday, May 16, 2010, St. William held a wine and hors d'oeuvres party to benefit our twinned parish, St. Joseph, Cotes de Fer. A silent auction and raffle were held. The benefit was a success and enjoyed by all who attended. Below is Tom Delaney who volunteered his services and his parishioner kitchen crew.
