We feasted on the New Orleans cuisine prepared by Chef Tom Delaney who supplied us with so much food that some of us returned to the tables for second helpings. Barbara Pelletier’s son and daughter donated 14 King Cakes for dessert (and they quickly disappeared). Several of our “menfolk” willingly stepped up to the bar – to serve the guests, that is.
The music of E-Z Credit Combo kept the dance floor full throughout the party. Besides the slow and fast music, they obligingly supplied the music for the Electric Slide – and the ages of the ones who participated ranged from the young to the old. We had several judges for the costume contest and by the process of elimination; we crowned Fran Owen and Dick Pelletier as Queen and King of the St. William Mardi Gras.
Thanks to the Council of Catholic Women who sponsored this joyful event. Special thanks to those of you who bought tickets to the dinner/dance and tickets for the three raffle baskets. The proceeds from the Mardi Gras go to the International Charities supported by the CCW through Catholic Relief Services.
